Shelley, Poe, Freud, Fromm, Kant, Plato, Mill, Asimov, Heinlein, and Sheckley have all influenced my thinking and writing. I began writing poetry and stories in high school, and later after graduating from Rutgers University I, became a special education teacher and later a college instructor.

My poem "Screen Savior" was nominated for a Rhysling Award in 2006 and appeared in that year's anthology. "Our Canine Defense Team" received second place in Asimov's SF magazine readers awards for 2010, and "I Sing the Body Bubonic" won first place in Janet Fox's Scavenger's Killer Frog contest.
