I am a father of seven and child advocate in the state of Florida. My motivation to write came from working with children in the schools and foster care systems. Seeing young readers struggle with books today. I started writing in 2003, the first in a series of books for the reluctant reader ages 6-10. But as life changed my project was put on hold. In 2011, I began writing once again, after meeting with educators,  and seeing a lack of books that intrest the young reader. Most books for the age group were too challenging or too babyish for their students in need. After working with a few of the teachers and their students, Bastion - Guardian of covington was created.
