I knew by the time I was five years old that whatever else I did--archaeologist, cop, teacher--I would also be a writer. I was 38 before I sold my first book. Since then I have had 23 books published by major houses, and as many more have been posted as ebooks by my own publishing company, Live Oak House. My compressed bio is at www.
