Combine my storytelling abilities with my experience as a former hustler, and you've got some great urban fiction.

At the age of eleven I lost my idol, my father. After he died I gravitated to the older men in my neighborhood, who I looked to as father figures, because they were hustlers like my father. Before I knew it I found myself knee deep in the streets, hustling, just like my father and the rest of the men I idolized. But the hustle inevitably ends, whether it be with a bullet, as it had for my father, or a prison sentence. Thankfully for me, it was the latter. After several years on the streets I received a ten year federal sentence. Never in a million years would I have thought that my incarceration would end up being a blessing in disguise.  Not only did prison save me, it also gave me the chance to find myself and discover my God given gift for writing. In prison I utilized my time to the best of my ability by exercising my mind daily. Chess and reading were two of my favorite past times. When I wasn’t playing chess I was in the comfort of my cell feeding my mind with knowledge by means of the written word.  Not only did I read educational books that could stimulate my mind and help me grow as a person, but I also read and fell in love with urban fiction novels.   Reading different authors' stories and their perception of the streets made me reflect back on my own time on the streets.  I felt like they were telling my story, but something was still missing. Most of the authors I enjoyed reading were from the East Coast.  Although the hustle is the same all across the globe, no state or coast hustles exactly the same.  So, since I was a hustler from the Midwest I felt it was important to represent and let the world know just how differently we do things.  Following the format of books I had read I began to pen my first novel "Left Without A Choice".  Six months later the manuscript was complete and I had caught the writer's bug. Therefore, I immediately began writing my second novel "The Hustle", which is currently available at DCBookDiva.com and everywhere else books are sold.  In the four years that followed I wrote several more books, culminating in my latest project, "Beyond Repair", a novel that I co-wrote with my friend and business partner Alonzo Strange.   With each novel I write my goal is to entertain and educate in hopes that the world will get to know Frazier Boy, the author, on a more intimate level, and hopefully fall in love with my art of storytelling.  I’m not saying that I’m here to change the game, but to add to it and establish a solid fan base.....
