Ms Overstreet has been writng poetry and short stories and articles for a number of years. She is a free lance writer, having been published in an Ozark Senior publication several times as well as magazines on the Internet: www.womenofpassions.com www.christianwomanspage.org www.womenofkairos.com Poetry.com She was blessed by God leading Christian writers to guide her each step of the way as she searched knowledge of how to get her books published. One step after another leading to her first book, "The Lord still speaks are you listening" to her newest book, "Moments in Time", a book of personal poetry. She now has seven (7) published books. She has now realized that writing books was just part of the journey on her way to writing Songs! That's right. She now knows He told her to write poetry, which has now turned into song lyrics, both Country and Christian. She has attended English/Writing classes at Solano Community College in Suisun City ca. Mt Herman Christian Writers Conference -California     

Betty has been invited to speak at churches in New Jersey and California, and totally enjoyed the experience, however, her direction has changed to include performing Gospel concerts in churches nationwide, sharing the music she has written.

She has received awards for 2 of her songs from Akademia Music awards in Los Angeles, Ca.
