I have always loved a good story, and a good story woven into a historical setting makes a fascinating read! The Lymond Chronicles by Scottish writer Dorothy Dunnett have been my biggest inspiration. But when I think of my very favorite tales, the stories I'll never forget, a good number of them were from children's literature. Someone said that reading the old children's stories is like diving into a cool, clear lake. Books like Tuck Everlasting, The Yearling and The Secret Garden come to mind. When I imagine my goals as a writer, my heart's desire would be to have my book compared with these.
