'Better Without You'is a compelling narrative that explores the complexities of an affair, hidden secrets, and abuse. It also highlights a daughter's heartfelt journey as she cares for her mother who is battling dementia.
The Wholly Book of Exodus is humorous adult literature that features adult language, situations and content. It is the companion book of Jay Dubya's The Wholly Book of Genesis that satires the entire first book of the Bible.
The Wholly Book
Scientist, teacher, rebel, photographer, musician, adventurer and now a writer!! (Said a friend.) "The Blind Spot" is my first novel.
Background
Information
I had harbored fiction-writerly ambitions for many years, but had never gotten around to it until now. Life had its way in the meantime, and after college, I found myself deeply engaged in the pursuit of a doctorate in Computer Science. Which I did acquire, from Rutgers University. Afterward, I turned away from research, and dabbled in teaching, then ran my own technology consulting business, worked in computing R&D, did a turn at a dot com company in New York (not all of these sequentially), and finally returned to Rutgers to teach full-time in the Computer Science department.
All along I was writing, indeed, but every bit of it was technical, to do with computing. Research papers, then my Ph.D. dissertation, then a text book. I was getting quite good at writing lengthy material. Then the Mumbai terror attacks of 2008 came to pass. Something cracked inside, and the muses came rushing in. Looking back now, I am aware that while I had wanted to write fiction since I was in fifth grade, only now did I have something meaningful to write about, and could see myself doing emotional justice to the slippery, non-linear, entirely human elements of "The Blind Spot". Which is to say, I had lived a little. Some of the material in the book resonate with, and are informed by, my own story as an immigrant to the U.S. After all, you write what you
know about.
I live in New Jersey with my wife and son. You can see what I am up to
generally when I am not writing fiction, at my Rutgers web page.
