Jessica Rister started writing when she was only ten years old. From her participation in her Young Author Program in school she has dreamed of becoming an author. She also took Creative Writing in both high school and college. The Gems of the Goddess series started as a poem about the ocean and progressed into a full length fantasy novella series, Unleashed since 2013. She continues to write in her Florida home with the support of her family behind her. Her newest book the Fantasy & Horror Short Story Collection with Other Shorts is important for the readers of The Gems of the Goddess series because there are short stories, for example Precious that the readers need to know about to understand what is going on within the series. She continues to work on her third book of the Gems of the Goddess series, which will be out Spring of 2015. I have always loved to read and write. When I was only ten years old I belong to the Young Authors Corporation at my school. R.L. Stine is the author that influenced me to write horror. Stephen King taught me how to write for a more mature audience. Edgar Alan Poe taught me how to twist and turn my plots to keep my readers guessing to the very end. Terry Goodkind taught me how to write fantasy that didn't seem like fantasy at all.
