After retiring from a career in education and medical administration, Dr. C. A. Ellis, Jr. has enjoyed his free time exploring issues that he was too busy to address while he was on the workaday treadmill. He and his wife recently became caught up in the 2012 Presidential election, recoiling at the "non-think" of such statements as "legitimate rape" and condemnations of the less fortunate in the now-famous "47%" comment of Mitt Romney. Having spent their lives in addressing needed social reforms, the Ellis' set about writing Bible Bullies, the book that they are currently promoting.

Dr. C. A. Ellis holds degrees in medical physiology, English literature and the humanities. Dr. Leslie Ellis holds degrees in psychology, medical rehabilitation and theater. Both have designed educational programs for welfare-to-work programs, and Dr. Leslie Ellis was honored with the National Alliance of Business Special Programs award in 1988. Both were honored to be a part of the People to People delegation to China after President Nixon's successful effort to open China's doors to the US for travel and commerce.
