From a very early age, I developed a great love for reading and writing. When I was five, my mother took me to a book-making class and I remembering being so excited to learn how books were made. From the eyes of a five-year old, I was stunned to learn that humans made books. I took home the empty pages, bound in a handmade book, and got to work. I kept writing and by third grade, I won first place at my school's writing competition. By fifth grade, I had set the goal to someday be a published author.  At age 16, I was recognized as a California Scholar of the Arts for Creative Writing. My first novel, Sanders' Starfish was released in 2004. My second novel, Unauthored Letters, is scheduled to be released this Fall. In addition to my writing, I work as a Lead Instructional Designer for K12, Inc, the country's largest online curriculum provider. I live in Utah with my  entertaining and talented husband and our energetic dog, Shasta.
