As a youth, he escaped becoming a victim of generational curses to earn a football scholarship to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In college, he rose above life's and self-imposed challenges to start two years at defensive back for the Volunteers. He commuted two days a week from Nashville to Knoxville to earn his long awaited B.A. degree in Sociology. He received his MBA from Strayer University in 2010. While pursuing his masters, he lost his management job sending him into a financial crisis. In what should have been one of the darkest moments in his life, Floyd accepted his purpose.
