I've been writing since 4th grade when I used to write "Mary Sue" stories in the paperbacks, putting my character into the stories of others. I dabbled in Star Trek fan fiction for several years as well. I went to college for journalism, switched to technical writing, and picked up most of a major in history and minor in English before having to quit school due to health issues. I worked for a few years as a technical writer, writing training manuals for the technical support people at Compaq. I've had several magazine articles published over the years as well. When not writing, I've been a DJ, a waitress, a pre-school teacher, worked sales, and worked for science fiction conventions on the con committee and worked for a knife/replica gun dealer, and was part-owner of a comic book shop. A famous author once told me that I had no business writing fiction, that I was a great non-fiction writer but not a fiction writer. I belived him for over 25 years. Then I had the idea for the "Fangs & Halos" series after reading a book about Storyville, New Orleans and seeing a picture of a woman who used to work in the brothels there. Once the characters were introduced, my muse let the characters start talking to me and I've been held captive in my living room, with the laptop practically chained to my wrist since. They won't let me sleep, they come bug me when I'm having fun with friends, and now all my friends think I'm crazy because I talk to angels and vampires and research things like the Hurricane Katrina, mercenaries, and angels. The first book in the Fangs & Halos series, "Lilly's Angel" was published by Heavenly Fangs Books in August 2013 and has garnered 5 star rankings, inluding from Paranormal Romance Guild.
