C. R. (Paul Colin Richard) Monk was brought up in the south of England then spent next 20 years living in France with a 3 year stint in Spain. As a qualified linguist, he became a teacher before moving into digital entertainment in 2000 to write scripts and storyworlds for videogames as well as an interactive language learning course. He loves reading fiction of varying styles and epochs from authors around the world as well as his younger-day favourites like J.R.R. Tolkein, R.L. Stevenson, Mark Twain, Dylan Thomas and many more. Influenced by the works of French naturalist Jean Henri Fabre, Monk has been an enthusiast of entomology for many years. A former resident in France and at the house of Villeneuve where his fantasy adventure novel is set, Monk now lives in Cambridgeshire, England, with his French wife and three young sons. He is currently working on the sequel to Strange Metamorphosis.
