I have always had a strong desire for creativity that has kind of labeled me as non-conforming and a trouble maker. The ultimate paradox is being independent and creative. You are fun and unique, yet non-conforming and a trouble-maker.I was an artist and writer long before anything else. I used to tell stories to my friends with such realism that they often thought they were real. Of course, when you are very young, you are branded as a liar from those same interesting stories!My career through the real world went from carpentry for 20 years, to computer support and training for 10 years after a back injury, to full-time technical writing for 4 years. It's funny how life brings you back to where you should be anyway. As a carpenter, I used to write how-to's for people who needed instructions when doing something on their homes. As a computer support tech, I was required to write user guides and upgrade instructions as well as a host of usage projections, user growth projections, etc. Working at a technical college made that pretty much a full time job and gave me the opportunity to move directly into staff training for computer applications, doing a great deal of... writing my own custom course materials. I was also the editor of an online staff technical newsletter to bring the staff up to speed.More writing was to follow as I was a consultant for various companies. With everything from internal newsletters, to dry reports, my next step to technical writing was easy and I spent over 4 years doing nothing else.I have recently coauthored a 288 page natural healing book with a Naturopathic doctor, which was released in February of 2004.My next projects are on the table (and the computer!) One collection of stories written as fiction but based on real people and real events. From there, it's on to more fiction.Oh yeah, then there's my artwork. Throughout my life, I have always had a passion and a natural talent for drawing. I absolutely love to write and I love to draw. My biggest challenge is finding time to get absorbed by both my writing and my drawing. It seems that these two creative endeavors are always at odds with one another. After I've been drawing for several days, I can't wait to get back to writing; after I've been writing for several days, I can't wait to get back to drawing! Life is good. Now if I could only get that winning lottery ticket... :-)

Seeing my first book in print in 1998 was such a thrill! But it was nothing like the thrill of completing my second late in 2003 and seeing it in print early in 2004!
That aside, my biggest achievement was working with a Naturopathic doctor who taught me how to save my life naturally when the medical community had given up on me. Nothing can compare to that. And aren't all of you lucky that you have to put up with me now! :-)
