Exploring deep philosophical constructs, but skilfully lightened with the humour of Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett, Lockett manages to create a work that will both challenge and entertain. Asked how he found time to write a full length novel amongst all his other activities, Pete replied, “I wrote it on numerous planes and tour buses, in recording studio lounges, lying beside the river Ganges with a laptop, in a sushi bar in Tokyo with an iPad, reclining backstage before a show, on a train in China and in many other unusual locations. Thus the book slowly evolved from the seed of an idea into a passionate pursuit.” Although ‘A Survivor’s Guide to Eternity’ is his first novel, it’s not his first venture into writing. Pete’s first book, ‘Indian Rhythms for the Drum Set’ was Book of the Year 2008 in the Dutch music press and made the top 5 best drum publications 2009 in America.
