I've written fiction for more than 40 years and now thanks to the Internet, I have 11 novels and two shorter works on kindle direct publishing. I feel most comfortable reading classics of western literature. I believe that literature is a continuum from Homer and the Bible to the present day and beyond,  The rich stream never fails to provide interesting and exciting material and is always growing. I was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, on June 30, 1942. My parents raised me in the suburbs of Boston. After I graduated from high school in 1960, I attended the University of Chicago. I got a B.A. in history in 1964 and spent four years as an enlisted man in the American army, working as a Lao linguist. I spent a year and a half in Bangkok. When I received my discharge from the army, I enrolled at a playwriting program at Brandeis, didn't finish, and worked at a bank for twelve years. I then entered a Lutheran seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and after five years of study, with a year of internship in St. Petersburg, Florida, I served as a pastor in Sudbury, Ontario for more than 17 years. I'm now retired and live in Toronto.
