I told my auntie Betty I would write a book and send it to her; I was five years old at the time and already an avid reader. All through school in Toronto, Canada, I wrote short stories, mainly science fiction, as Robert Heinlein was my favourite author at the time. In my teens I scribbled down lyrics for songs our garage band would play. When I went to college, it was to study Radio and Television Writing. That stopped me writing for years. It was antithetical to the type of writing I wanted to do. You see, I wanted to be a novelist. About ten years ago, I became enthralled with all things Celtic. I had read a description of the wild Celts as written by a centurion in Ceasar's army. I thought he must have met me, his description was so spot on. Armed with my new identity, I began to write my first novel, an Arthurian tale with a twist; Arthur was not a name it was an ancient Celtic title. The man was never a king, but rather a Celtic tribal leader from what is now North Wales. The book is called BADON, after the famous (and mysterious) hill where "Arthur" temporarily saved the Celts from the Saxon invasion. I had written two books prior to Badon. They were non-fiction martial arts books relfecting my thirty-eight years studying martial arts. I am proud of those books but it is novels I love to write! Yes, I am a professional author. However, the bills have been paid via my career as a Correctional Officer from 1977 to 1996 and recently, as a train operator from 1996 to the present. I have high hopes, though, as I am writing my seventh book, which is to say, my fifth novel!
