After years of working with words in the non-fiction arena as a freelance writer, technical writer, and multimedia producer (among many other positions), I decided to write a novel. The end result is Deadly Memories, the first of a four book series about Saul Becker and Jayne Doe. I've been writing all of my life. I started with journals when quite young. Wrote and directed a play in middle school. Worked on the school newspaper and literaturary magazine staffs in high school and college. I created the equivalent of a blog long before the concept of the internet took hold, much less the term blog. I started this "manual blog" one day in high school because I was bored in study hall. I entertained myself by writing an amusing summary of the week and then gave it to a friend. Before I knew it, the piece had been seen by most students in the school and people demanded I keep it up. So I wrote one once a week. I've read too many books to easily know what has influenced me most. Since my first books are mysteries, I guess it is worthwhile to mention I read every Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy book as a kid. Today I read Tomas Perry, Lisa Gardner, James Lee Burke, Stephen White, and Toni Hillerman, to name a few. All have influenced me.
