Cabot Barden is a native of Sylacauga. Al. A songwriter/author, having written countless songs and three published novels. It's The Bass Player,Toby's Mixed Blessings, and Dynamite Runs In The Family. All three set in a small town in Alabama, with the main character, Toby Martin, a member of a pop band in the 70s, struggling and juggling between being a family man and his ambition to make it in the music world. It's The Bass Player was nominated for the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award for Literary Fiction in 2011 and was endorsed by his friend, Clive Cussler. Toby's Mixed Blessings was the winner of the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award for 2012, and his latest published work, Dynamite Runs In The Family received the award in 2014. Cabot just finished his fourth book, called Shamrocks and Skallywags. He says it is totally different from his first three.
