Information
I have long sought to overcome the sense of abnormality I experienced as the son of an alcoholic father by searching for something that seemed to me accurately to represent the world I grew up in. To an extent I found that in the practice of my religion and by studying and teaching literature, but it was not until I put my Jesuit education to greater use by writing a memoir that I discovered my particular relationship to the world and how it differed from that of most others I knew. My memoir is entitled Unsuitable Treasure: An Ex-Jesuit Makes Peace with the Past. It was published by Oak Tree Press in March, 2015.
