I am a Washington State based CPA who spent most of my career straddling the fence between the information technology and accounting worlds. I woke up one day to the realization that while I was fortunate that my experience, training and credentials allowed me to easily change jobs and companies to receive pay increases that were greater than the annual percentages promised to employees, I still hadn't achieved the financial success promised by the "traditional rules for success". Those rules weren't working for me....  And would be even less effective for the generations now enter the workforce.
