Vienna's Will is my first novel. It is a story I have been trying to tell for over twenty years now but only after an illness threatened to take my life did I finally find the strength and courage to release what I had been holding inside for most of my life. The story grew as the years went by, but its message has always remained the same. True love, compassion and strength within one’s self can and will conquer whatever we encounter if we are willing and open to let it. I have written the story in various formats throughout the years but only now was I willing to discuss and elaborate on topics I was sure I would keep deep within for a lifetime. Topics like child abuse, depression, drug abuse and suicide are not subjects that flow easily either through dialogue or published form but they are areas that not only should be discussed, but MUST be examined and analyzed with great conviction if positive growth in these areas are ever to show change. Vienna's Will was originally meant just for me, and my family members but now its true purpose is my contribution to raising awareness on these difficult but unfortunately universal afflictions. Whether personally, or through the eyes of a friend or loved one, they are commonplace to us all and despite the pain they inflict, they don't get to win, if only we see it that way or help others in their journey to do so.
