Originally a musician and entertainer for over 30 years, I turned to writing to express my creativity when an operation on my fingers ended my ability to play guitar. I worked from 2009 to 2014 as a professional researcher for a major player in the genealogy field and became enamored with the subject. After tracing my own family lineage back to 1683, I found that genealogy could be a time consuming and expensive undertaking. I consequently decided to publish a line of helpful guides that would assist others in tracing their family lineages and finding the necessary records as quickly and inexpensively as possible. Thus the Handy Genealogy Handbooks were born; presently one for each state in the United States of America and one for Irish genealogy research. An avid genealogist myself, I have designed them to take researchers right to the resource they need, most of which are free.
