I’ve been a photographer all of my adult life and before that I was creating images in my mind that I’ve spent the rest of my life trying to create/capture/understand/to know. Robert Frank is quoted as saying he "stopped doing photography because after a point it became all the same thing" or something to affect, though he did film he did continue with his photography. I believe he did this looking for an understand himself. I ask, I wonder, how does any one end up where they do. I’m talking about my life, their life our lives. Is it right, is any of this right? We wake up one day and sleep our last sleep then appear in black and white on a sheet of enlarging paper mixed together with developer stop bath and fix, selenium toned, washed and hung. There's a desire, a need to touch it, to smell it to turn the latent image into a life that is ours, to admire to question to speculate. Born into a world where we want to be something more, revered, to be, to celebrate an existence, and have an understanding of mortality. This is the purpose of the photographic image.

Studied 3 years of Photography in Canada becoming a professional photographer in 1983. Jeff Krotz moved to the UK in 1995 and continued his photography career to present.
