After graduation, I studied economics and the markets. I worked in telecommunications serving in a variety of roles including engineering, sales, sales support, product development, and training. In 2004, I received a patent for a software application developed with a colleague. In addition to my regular job, I traded futures and was successful during the stock market crash of 1987. I furthered my education by completing a Series 3 license (Commodity Trading Advisor). I also developed proprietary software programs used in options and futures trading. In the late 1990s, I realized that something was amiss in the stock market. My employment in telecommunications and networking led me to identify a bubble in companies related to the Internet. I warned colleagues to remove money from the stock market since it appeared the bubble was about to pop. It did in the year 2000. Currently, I'm a Principal at Sentinel Consulting, a business restructuring and capital acquisition firm. I also operate the economic and financial website called The Sentinel. Frequently, I contribute to financial and economic publications. I'm influenced by deteriorating economic conditions, often not clearly seen. Economic deterioration leads to clashes between politics and economics.
