Though she was born in California, Ms. M.L. Thayer has spent most of her life in the beautiful state of Oregon. She is a self-taught graphic artist and website designer. Her first foray into creative writing happened back in the fifth grade, thanks to a teacher who was very passionate about it. It wasn't until many years later, however, that Ms. Thayer returned to writing when she enrolled in a correspondence course from the Institute of Children's Literature. She eventually came to the conclusion that writing children's stories wasn't a good fit for her. A number of years after that, she dove headlong into the world of fan fiction writing, which became her passion for the next fourteen years. She credits that experience with the vast improvement of her writing skills and doesn't regret for a moment the years she put into it. Her enjoyment for writing grew into a passion from that experience.
