Deborah Cannon was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. An archaeologist and scientific illustrator, her work took her from the West Coast to England, then to Toronto, and eventually to Tonga and Fiji. Her stories are based on her work as an archaeologist. Much of it is inspired by aboriginal myths and cultures. Her short fiction appears in Canadian anthologies and at fictionwise.com. Her short story Petroglyphs hit number 2 on fictionwise.com's science fiction Best Seller list after its release. Her three anthropological thrillers The Raven's Pool , White Raven and Ravenstone were published through Trafford Publishing, acquiring critical acclaim from archaeologists. Most recently she received an official endorsement from Edgar Award-winning suspense author T.J. MacGregor who had this to say about it: "Intrigue, romance, duplicities, an ancient mystery: Ravenstone is captivating." Her latest instalment to the Raven Chronicles series is called Raven's Blood and is in all major online bookstores now. She began her writing career with an illustrated manual published by SFU archaeology Press and from there contributed articles to the Canadian Journal of Archaeology, the Canadian Writer's Guide and absolutewrite.com. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, and a master of Museum Studies from the University of Toronto. She completed writing programs from the Humber School for Writers, McMaster University, the Longridge Writers Group and the Institute of Children's Literature.

She belongs to the Canadian Authors Association
