Raised mink, drove truck, drilled for oil, logged in Oregon, Montana and Idaho, a political operative, school teacher and real estate broker/investor. Behind it all I was and am a writer. Published many stories, articles, features and was deeply influenced by Erskine Caldwell, Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, James Clavel, James Michener, Robert Penn Warren, Jack London and Rudyard Kipling. My first novel, FOR WHAT HE COULD BECOME, a tale coming from the great North Country has been likened to a Jack London or Robert Service novel.

My main achievements are that I am healthy, wealthy and wise...now. It took awhile but I can hike, bike, lift iron, play racquetball and write a good five hours a day and keep on ticking. I am happily married for 52 years, haven't been in prison, moved because I had to, or died. And those are surely qualities I've yearned to posses.
