Writing history: Alexa Wolf published a cover story and others for the L.A. WEEKLY, an article for the C. G. Jung Institute journal, PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES; and a piece for the New York Native. During the years of her HIV misdiagnosis and the illnesses resulting from an experimental treatment for it (an event she recounts in her memoir, MY MOTHER'S HOUSE, A Memoir), she appeared in TIME MAGAZINE and several other publications as well as on numerous television and radio programs including THE TODAY SHOW, a Dan Rather special, and OPRAH! Toward the future: In her teens, at the very height of her violent emotions toward her mother, Alexa Wolf discovered the concept of nonviolence. That which Gandhi called Satyagraha - the Sanscrit word for truth force, soul force and love force - deeply inspired Alexa. Her first novel will incorporate what she learned. Alexa lives in Los Angeles and loves birds. For six of the eight years she spent writing MY MOTHER’S HOUSE, her little bird, Captain Kirk the Parakeet, kept her company. He will be the subject of her next memoir. Meanwhile, she makes jewelry – especially bird jewelry.

At age twelve Alexa Wolf won first place for her age group in a poetry contest sponsored by the International Women's League for Peace and Freedom. Ten years later she won a fellowship to the MacDowell Colony. She is currently working on her Writers Certificate at the UCLA Writers Extension Program.
