People fascinate me, they always have.  What they do.  How they do it.  But more importantly, why they do it.  Philosophy is everything to me: I believe it is the thoughts behind words and deeds that set the scenes of a person’s life. This fascination with characters has helped form my writing - I never impose a story upon my characters, they reveal their stories to me. My earlier books are modern day fables.  They chart a woman’s quest for a deeper meaning to life and reflect my own endeavours and experiences. US critics generously referred to me as ‘a storyteller extraordinaire’ for these books.
