BJ Bourg has worked in law enforcement his entire adult life and served as a patrol officer, detective sergeant, police academy instructor, and chief investigator for a DA’s office. He began working in special operations as an entry team member when he was 20 and then developed and commanded the sniper program for his department, growing it to a six-person, award-winning team. He graduated from seven sniper schools—always at the top of his class—and earned the title of “Top Overall Marksman” at the FBI Sniper School. In addition to teaching nearly all law enforcement subjects to police cadets, he has taught at DA conferences, writing conferences, writers’ meetings, and a sniper conference. He has had over 185 of his short stories, articles, and fillers published in dozens of venues, including national magazines such as Woman’s World, Boys’ Life, Tactical Response, and Law and Order.
