Information
Not Like You will be my fourth published book. My inspiration comes from many sources, one of which is an appreciation for teens and the issues they face. I used to work with teens and teen parents in wilderness and community service programs. Mostly, though, I just like a good drama, especially one that delves into the emotional complexity of human relationships. Not Like You explores a teen's romance with an older guy, yet it's a mother-daughter story at heart, one that's keeping readers on the edge of their seats.
Accomplishments
My books have won the IRA Teachers' Choice, NYPL Books for the Teen Age, CBC's Notable Trade Books in the Field of Social Studies, and Maine Student Book Award.
