I was born and educated in the town of Louth Lincolnshire. I loved writing stories as a child at school, and always knew that one day I would write a book based upon my experiences around Louth and my father's workshop. This ambition was not to be realised until 40 years later. It just goes to show that it is never too late to do something you have always wanted to do. After leaving school I trained to be a teacher and spent 27 years teaching nursery and infant children in the Grimsby area. This was very beneficial as I now go around schools talking to pupils about my book and being an author in my "Wishing Machine" workshop.
