Maureen Meehan Aplin received her bachelor's and master's degrees in education before becoming a lawyer. The gruesome murder of her legal secretary was a compelling influence in her writing career. She is now a judicial officer for the superior court in Orange County, California where she lives with her children. She has crafted four Mary MacIntosh legal thrillers, including: Dying to Ski, Snake River Secret, Powder River Poison, and Pandemic Predator. She is currently crafting Poisoned by Proxy -- the fifth novel in the "Mac" series. She has completed numerous mararthons, including Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and has completed the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon.

Maureen's biggest achievement is raising her two children.
