I am KCJ Windsong. I am a simple Canadian woman that carries an outspoken spirit like no other. The work I write was originally intended for myself, but it wasn’t until recent events that had encouraged me to shed light on the importance of my work. Everyone has their own method of picking themselves up after tragedy, but for myself, it was my literary works to help revive my soul to help me become the woman that I am today. I feel that it is my gift to the world to present inspiring pieces to those who walk in the midst of tragedy to show that hope indeed does spring eternal even in the darkest of moments. Any walks of life know tragedy, but it is the strength instilled in the soul after that event that makes people stronger. Often we feel that as if we are alone in the midst tragedy, but in truth, we are as alone as we choose to make ourselves feel. There is comfort and hope, but it only takes chance to be willing to look for it amongst all the chaos and madness of this world that we live in today. My work often is spoken in prose, because of the fact that is the closest to reality that any amount of poetry can be. Spoken in the voice of the common person, but with feeling and emotion that can be shared and expressed to all walks of life. It does not matter who they are or what they are, because everyone experiences tragedy in their lives at one point or another. It is just the choice at the midst of a crossroads in their lives that individuals must choose a path to either better their lives or continue to make it worse. That crossroads often makes us or breaks us. A crossroads was presented to me within my own life. I had to make a decision about my life, how I viewed various aspects of it, and how I chose to treat individuals. I truly had to evaluate my life, because the path I was walking did not suit the person I wished to be. I feel in a lot of ways that many people are feel that way too, but it took me under a great amount of time to understand that and the fact that I am not alone. Opportunities of happiness do happen to appear in life, but they are too far often taken for granted. Good example, I spending time with my family in Barrie, Ontario. Those are moments that I truly cherish, because it is not material items that I wish to have to make me happy. Just seeing the smiling faces and hearing the laughter of my two grandsons is good enough. It is the simple things in life that truly make everything be worth it in life.
