My name is Frances D. Beckham, a writer of children and young adult fiction. As a long time resident of the Pacific Northwest, I have developed an appreciation for the beauty and spirit of our region’s natural environment. Also I have great respect and admiration for the wonderfully unique personality that we as citizens of the region have developed. I enjoy learning about different cultures, their unique practices, superstitions, and religious belief. As a writer I have learned to use my love for nature, my interest in people, and my knowledge of various cultures to influence my literary creations. In my writings the characters are adventurous, curious, and mystifying. My stories explore the connection between the spiritual environment and the physical environment. The characters gain an understanding of spirituality and relate the understanding to life’s crisis, experiences, and situations. As a result the characters have unusual real life experiences that only occur in the imagination. By balancing drama and comedy the stories are entertaining and can be enjoyed by children and adults.

I have a degree in accounting, but I decided to start a career as a writer. I have recently published my first novel. It is titled Brookline of St. Mary's Asylum.
