Biography of Ewoud Willem van Doorn. He was born 1948 at Gouda, The Netherlands. His residence is Hoogerheide, a small village near Bergen op Zoom in the province Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands. More and more he gave attention to his creativity during his adolescense. On the Art Academy of Utrecht he developed himself further in Graphic Design and Photography. In the early years after this education he first expressed himself by painting and drawing, since several years he writes poetry and performs on stages. In his poetry you can find many variations in style and form: nonrhyming verses as well as poetry written in traditional verses. Style and form are mostly impulsively chosen by him. His poetry has often philosofical and cryptic elements in it and shows more realism than naturalism. Also the romantic soul is sometimes speaking. He writes about his dualism: belief and nonbelief, struggle and love, questions and insight. For him writing poetry is often the proces of hard labour with words, but what he likes most is writing on intuition and impulse. What touches him the deepest occurs more crearly to him after he puts his feelings to paper. For him his poetry is like a fruit hanging from the tree and riping, like he ripes during his existence. In this manner his language is a continuing discovery, a thrilling adventure. He likes to perform with his poetry and has experience on different stages. He is a good performer with a recognizable style.“DWARRELKRUID” (" WHIRLINGSEEDS") is the title of his first poetry-volume with a selection of the poems he has written during the last nine years until recently. He was asked by Frans Mink at Bergen op Zoom, the publisher of poetry Doorgeverij Zinderend, who was very eager to publish his works. He was also strongly advised and convinced by other poets and many of his relatives to do so. At last he has let back his doubts. Hereby he was especially inspired by Albert Hagenaars, who also presents his poetry on Authorsden (click this link). His firstborn poetry-volume "DWARRELKRUID" (" WHIRLINGSEEDS") tells about what moves and inspires him and is a sure start-up for more.
