Background
Information
I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan and completed my education by obtaining a diploma in Graphic Design in 1988 and also hold a degree in Bachelor of Arts from Karachi University in 1992. Later, when I migrated to Canada in 2003, I again enrolled in a creative writing course in “Writing for Children and Teenagers” from the institute of Children’s Literature and obtained a diploma in 2005.
During childhood, I got hooked on reading and as time passed, that habit gave birth to my inborn knack of writing poetry and short stories for all ages. I have been writing poetry as an outlet to express my emotions.
In 1984, while in college I began writing poetry. I was pleasantly surprised when my first short story was selected and published in the National Daily in Pakistan (The Dawn). Afterwards, a number of my poems and prose were printed in various magazines and newspapers.
