JD Hamilton, a.k.a. Yeoman Lain Byrd, served as Captain Yeoman onboard an Aircraft Carrier in the 1970's and completed several deployments to the Mediterranean and South America.
Social experiments of the 1970's included some members of the American judiciary offered freshly convicted criminals the option of joining the U.S. armed forces, instead of serving their sentences. As a result, the U.S. Navy, among the other branches, was diluted with criminally and psychologically dangerous miscreants, to the detriment of the service, and thus the safety of the nation.
The novel is based upon actual people and events that include intimations of the most nefarious acts.
