While in high school, I was assigned to the features section for the "Gavel"  newspaper at John Marshall High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  I also had the opportunity to write and direct commercials for production in my broadcasting class during both my junior & senior years. In college I worked as a floor manager for a weekly college show shown on our campus cable channel.   My desire to publish a book of poetry did not actually come into play until 2000, when I began to write poetry during a period of transition. I also realized during this time that I liked writing poetry as much as I enjoyed reading it.  I would like to thank Dr. Loretta McBride my former African American Literature professor, who in 1998 was instrumental in helping me to dig deep and pull from the heart what I needed to say as I wrote papers as part of my class assignments.     Writing is not just a profession or career to me, it is part of my ordained ministry assignment from God.  This is one area of my life which I take very seriously. Writing allows me to minister words of healing, hope, love, peace, truth and to talk about the goodness of God. I am honored and humbled to be able to share with people the good news and the Father's wisdom  through this sacred scribal ministry.
