Rjpoet, born Richard T. James, Jr. is a poet, author and writer currently living in his home town of Detroit, Michigan. A 1990 graduate of Morehouse College, he acquired his Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Proudly, in 2003, Richard completed his doctoral degree program in Educational Administration and Policy studies from Wayne State University. He teaches Marketing/Business Education in the Detroit Public School system. Rjpoet's works reflect his life experiences. Inspired by such African American writers as Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Langston Hughes, and Nikki Giovanni, Rita Dove, Zane, Terry Mcmillian; his words are imaginative, soul stirring, romantic, sensual and captivating.  

Rjpoet has been published in Imaginaries I, a French publication published by the Universite de Nantes; A Delicate Balance and The Space Between, published by the National Library of Poetry; the Sphinx magazine, published by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and numerous other publications.
