Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said. "One can't believe impossible things." "I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." - Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, 1871

Background Information

Laurie Nienhaus is the founder of The Ladies’ Tea Guild and editor of the Guild’s on-line, free monthly - Sweet Willa’s Review. While loving history, tea, and Jane Eyre even as a child, her passion for Victoriana, the Edwardian era, and for vintage fashion, was born during a month’s visit to England with her grandmother when she was 24 years old.

With a passion for designing vintage inspired handbags, she is also the creative force behind Designs by Lady Montana, a pattern company she established in 1996, specializing in vintage inspired accessories.

Her writing most usually incorporates her love of history and tea.

Laurie is also a public speaker who has been entertaining her audiences for over six years with presentations such as Remembering Miss Millay, How on Earth Did Tea Make It This Far, and The Tactics of Alice Paul.
