That sounds really boring until you realize that his clients include the US National Security Agency (NSA), the Secret Service, the FBI, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and a host of other acronymonious agencies who cultivate exciting and shadowy reputations. Alas, those reputations are mere facades that disguise the real reason these organizations exist, which is to keep David entertained and fed.   When David wants a break from this spellbinding work he writes science fiction and other types of stories. His credits encompass two novelettes and nearly sixty shorts. Fifty of the stories have been published in periodicals such as Science Fantasy, Kalkion Literature and Science Fiction, Cosmic Crime Stories, and Kaleidotrope.   An additional seven were featured in literary and genre anthologies including Apollo’s Lyre Best of 2006 edition and the 10th Anniversary Issue of Antipodean SF. He received honorable mention in L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest and was quarter-finalist in the New Century contest.   His monthly column Science for Fiction (S4F) for Abandoned Towers was dedicated to science and how it can be incorporated into fiction. The articles explored advances in quantum physics, the science of invisibility, augmented humans, and similar topics.   Other pieces related to the extraordinary and scintillating aspects of his day job have been published in academic journals, newsletters, and Politics and Economics of Asia Vol. 10. Their titles include such prosaic brilliance as “Cointegrating Properties of the Demand for Money in Japan Revisited,” which must be particularly amazing because readers didn’t get enough of that topic the first time around. David has also been a peer reviewer for the truly mind-blowing articles other economists and statisticians wrote for three professional journals.   His hobbies include reinventing the wheel, the Sisyphus relief project, and referring to himself in third person as THE David lest fools confuse him with the other ones.   David serves on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Writers' Conference and he leads the Words-in-Progress writers group. He lives within the shadow of Philadelphia in Elkins Park with his wife Michelle, two children, and a very nice comic collection.
