I have always been in love with words. Ever since I was a little girl growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah. At night I would pull the becovers up over my head, book and flashlight in hand, and read for hours. During the day I often wrote stories and English was always my favorite subject at school. In fact I eventually majored in English at the University of Utah, with minors in reading and Middle Eastern Studies. Why Middle Eastern Studies? I just happened to meet a handsome Persian guy my sophmore year and it was love at first sight. We've now been married for 34 years and have two grown sons. Although we generally reside in Southern California, my husband's career has led us all over the world, from India, to the Philippines, to Malaysia, South Africa, Latin America, Europe and much of North America. Currently, we're residing in London and The Netherlands. While at times we feel like a couple of gypsies, it is through our travel experiences that we have been able to to gain insight into so many world cultures and meet so many wonderful people of all nationalities. It has also provided me with so many of the experiences that I incorporate into my writing.

I hold a BA degree in English from the University of Utah, with minors in reading and Middle Eastern Studies. I have seriously pursued my writing career for 18 years, after giving up teaching and my art endeavors. I've worked as a professional writer in a non-fiction capacity, writing annual reports, employee publications, and catalogue descriptions and have done technical writing. I have also worked as an editor. But my real love is writing fiction. I have written poety and short stories, some of which have been published. I have also completed several novels, two of which have been published. They are "Amelia", a murder-mystery based on Amelia Earhart's disappearance and "The Blue Mosaic Vase" a "coming of age" story of a young Muslim boy and the six women who greatly impact his life, both of which are available through SynergEbooks.com in both printed and electronic format. I'm also the author of "Jenny's Homecoming" the love story of a Native American school teacher and Vietnam widow, "New Kid At Salt Creek," an adolescent "coming of age" novel set at the California beach; "Bright Sunrise," an ecological-based love story between a woman forest ranger at Bryce Canyon National Park and the power developer that she is trying to curtail from ruining the park's environment. I am currently working on "Catemaya--The Singing Hills." Drawn from my experiences while living in Mexico for three years and my work with the Otomi Indians, it is set in a tiny village high in the Sierra de Pachuca mountains and tells the story of a young girl who journeys to Mexico City to become a maid. In addition, I have written two children's books based on my Mexico experiences: "My Grandmother Has An Orphanage," based on the lives of the children of Hogar Dulce Hogar, an orphanage in Mexico City where I spent many hours. Secondly, "Lucky Dog," based on our own dog's life--a little mutt we adopted from the streets of Mexico City, who has now become a world traveler.

Writing is not the only thing that I enjoy. There's nothing I like better than sitting by the campfire on a starry night, nor skiing down a pine-covered mountain through fresh powder show. Then there's reading--I still can't put a book down once I've started it. I also like to dibble a bit in art and play the acoustical guitar. Gardening is also a priority of mine and I call it my "green thumb" therapy. And finally, travel is a real passion of mine. I can't believe how fortunate I've been to see so much of the world.
