Reared in a Christian home that was full of fun and laughter, I launched early from that pad; when I was fifteen I married the love of my life, Steve Eubanks.  We quickly added to our flock three sons (by the time I was twenty.)     Steve felt God's call to the ministry and we were off  to Birmingham, Alabama, where we both received our B. A. degrees.  From there, we went to Ft. Worth, Texas, where Steve attended Southwestern Theological Seminary and where I began my teaching career, which lasted for thirty-five years.     I loved teaching writing to high schoolers and would often write along with them.  With a collection of humorous incidents which had taken place in church or in spiritually-related situation, I was inspired to couple theses with devotions.  This was the birth of my first book -  Humorous Happenings in Holy Places, Tate Publishing, 2004.  With the release of this book, my speaking career began.  I started receiving calls asking me to speak to civic and church groups.  What better material for my talks could I ask for but the stories from my book.  I now schedule 70 + events a year.  After retiring from teaching English in May 2005, I wrote my second book, And the Angels Laughed, Tate Publishing, 2006, which follows the same format as my first.  Presently, I have a novel awaiting publication and have started my third devotional book.    When I reflect on influences in my life, my family is first and foremost.  I received a legacy of laughter from my parents, Willie and Hugh Cochran; my children and grandchildren have provided many anecdotes for my books; but greatest of all is my husband, Steve Eubanks, who has been my greatest encourager and supporter.  He also serves as a great editor for my writing before I submit to publishers.    Many of my professors have had tremendous influence on my life.  Mrs. Polly Powell, one of my English professors at Samford served as my teaching role model.  Dr. Dwight Eddins, one of my English professors through my Masters and Ed. S, work, provided a fountain of knowledge of literature, inspiring me to earn A's in his classes, and made me feel like I could acheive.    In my writing career, author Cec Murphy has taught me much.  Attendance and participation in Jerry B. Jenkins' Writing for the Soul conferences has allowed me to rub elbows with famous authors, publishers, and agents.    Although I am thankful for all these wonderful people, Jesus, my Savior, Lord, Provider, and Counselor stands as my greatest help.
