Growing up I was the boys worst nightmare. I was ugly, bony, brown-skinned with short hair. What did  I have going for me? Not much. My childhood was bleak. I felt alone most of the time, sheltered, and distant from my parents. Life was a struggle for me.  BUT... Come the fifth grade I heard a poem by Emily Dickinson (I can't remember the title) but it did something to me inside out. I became intrigued by her...mostly because she was bold enough to express her most intimate thoughts with the world. So I began to mimic her at the age of ten. It was a blessing to be able to free those inner woes that I was experiencing.  TRAGEDY! When I was twenty-six tragedy struck my family. I was a single-mother of two little boys. February 2, 1995, my whole world crumbled when I was informed that my six-year-old son had a form of cancer called GLIOBLASTOMA (malignant brain tumor). OH BOY!  It was difficult to swallow but I had to face the life challenges that were coming forth for my family. I was his mother and mommies take care of their children, no matter what. No matter how much time God grants us...we are still the trees that stand strong.  Departure... Well, November 2, 1995, my son died, but I didn't even though I wanted to.  I began to write and write and write based on his advice. And in April of 2008, "The Write Message" was born.  And my first book "ANONYMOUS" was birthed.
