Michael-Christopher has been an active voice in the black lesbian and gay  community for over a decade as an author, illustrator, lecturer and artistic advisor to  several outreach projects throughout the United States. An alumnus of The School of Visual Arts in New York City, Michael started his publishing career as an illustrator, creating the LIVING THE LIFE graphic novel series, which garnered attention from magazines such as Vibe, Honey, The Advocate and D.C.’s MetroWeekly. Michael’s transition to novelist began when he brought his comic characters to life in the LIVING THE LIFE PREQUEL series. Michael then branched out to a whole new cast of characters in the critically acclaimed FROM TOP TO BOTTOM and the newly released UNSPEAKABLE broaching hard hitting topics such as sexual dominance and child molestation. Michael's love for reading started as a small child. His books were as important to him than any toy or game. At a young age, Michael made his own comics, then in high school wrote weekly serials about he and his best friends. Michael's professional writing career started when he covered high school baseball games for The Suburbanite, his hometown paper. Michael's love for literature was reignited in his senior year when he took an ethnic lit class. Books like Piri Thomas' Down These Mean Streets, and Richard Wright's Uncle Tom's Children, gave him the inspiration and courage to live his dreams and carry the word.

In July 2006, From Top to Bottom made #3 on Southern Voices Top Ten Gay men's fiction list after just six weeks of limited distribution.

This year marks ten years for publishing success. Since 1998, Michael has written, illustrated and published a graphic novel compilation, and four literary novels.

Michael has appeared in VIBE, Honey, The Advocate, Sapience, Metro Weekly and the
New York and Washington Blade publications.
