I've been writing now for eighteen years. Short stories, a couple of self-help books, a memoir, (Soon my family will have to read it in self-defense.) Three novels now with two published, Ordered Solutions-business intrigue- published by Publish America, 2005. and Raw Talent w/ Comfort Publishing, a small publisher in Concord, NC. I found out the hard way about a small segment of the publishing industry (with reference to PubAmer).. Fortunately I only go to one goat-roping per career. It's just another experience to write about. I've done Numerous essays and political articles as in my pages here. The biggest influence has been in learning how old-friends and family would react to the fact I'm writing. It was a little scary at first, since I was less sure of myself, and they were scared to death I might suck and they wouldn't know how to tell me. Then, when they found out I usually knew before they did how bad something I'd written was, it made it easier for them to laugh their butts off. It means they've had a good chance to see my progress and now they are my best critics. Now that the writing is starting to pay off tells me I am learning a little each day. Advice: "Don't give up on yourself as long as you believe in what you're doing." Never let someone's critical opinion of your work sway your dedication to it. Take what's useful, use it, and remain positive. There are people out there who are technically good at what they do, but they can be toxic when they attempt to go beyond their limits of expertise.
