My name is Patricia Neely-Dorsey. I am from Tupelo, MS. I the author of two books of poetry "Reflections of a Mississippi Magnolia-A Life In Poems" and My Magnolia Memories and Musings- In Poems. I call both books a celebration of the south and things southern. There are so many negative connotations associated with my part of the country.In my book, I show another side of the coin.

Patricia Neely-Dorsey is a 1982 graduate of Tupelo High school in Tupelo,MS, and received a Bachelor of Arts degreein Psychology from Boston,University in Boston,MA. Patricia resided in Memphis TN for almost 20 yrs, working in the mental health field, before moving back to her hometown in August 2007. Patricia lives in Tupelo with her husband. James; son,Henry and Miniature Schnauzer, Happy.
Patricia is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.Inc.
Of her writing influence, Patricia states." My mother gave me a passionate love for reading and writing, and my father gave me an appreciation for poetry and great literature, especially that of African American origin. I can never get enough of Maya Angelou and Nickki Giovanni. '
