Like many authors, I attribute my desire to write to my early reading habits. I cannot remember a time when books were not a cherished companion. I've always loved books filled with plot and colorful characters. Dickens was an early favorite. Despite the current fashion for books heavy on dialog-- quick reads-- I often still prefer more meaty fare.
